Wayne Knowles is a professional photographer with over 30 years experience. He’s conducted dozens of photography workshops and taught art at a community college for 14 years, authoring and designing over 20 different courses. Also an award winning landscape painter he brings an artists eye to his compositions.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Wayne moved to Florida as a young man searching for wide-open spaces and adventure. After studying architecture in Miami Florida for three years he left his college studies to pursue a career in fine art photography, eventually moving to Oregon. Returning to college in 1991, Wayne earned a Bachelor of Art degree from Marylhurst University.

He used 4″x5″ and 8″x10″ view cameras until the late 90′s when he made the switch to the digital medium. His love of natural areas has led him to photograph the Florida Everglades, the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest.

Wayne’s work is included in the collections of the city of Salem, Oregon, Chemeketa Community College, as well as numerous corporate and private collections. He maintains studios in Sedona, Arizona and Salem, Oregon dividing his time between them.
